Privacy Policy
Who we are
Leavenly is a sourdough starter tracker app provided by Thuyen Nguyen, an individual based in Vietnam ("we", "us"). Contact for all privacy questions: [email protected].
The short version
- Your starters, feedings, photos, notes and bake plans stay on your device. We have no servers or user accounts and we cannot see this data.
- There are no ads, no tracking across other apps and no sale of personal data.
- We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, and Adapty to process purchases.
Data stored on your device
Leavenly stores the content you create (starters, feeding entries, photos, notes, bake plans, settings) in the app's local storage. It is not sent to us. If you use iCloud Backup, Apple may include this data in your device backup under Apple's terms. You can export your data to a file and import it again from Settings.
Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you about feedings and bake steps. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
- Camera and photos: only when you choose to take or pick a photo. Photos stay in the app and are not uploaded.
- Location is not requested. You enter the kitchen temperature yourself.
Analytics and crash reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (Google). They receive events such as screens opened, feature use and purchase steps, with values like categories and numbers, together with technical data such as app version, device model, operating system, approximate region and an app instance identifier. Crash reports contain technical diagnostics. We do not send the text of your notes, photos, or names of your starters to these services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics collection stays off until you give consent in the app, and you can withdraw it at any time. We do not use advertising identifiers.
Purchases
Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card or payment details. To manage Premium access we use Adapty, which receives an anonymous profile identifier created for your installation, your purchase and subscription status, and technical data such as app version, device and operating system, and approximate region. Adapty acts as our processor for this purpose.
How we use data
- To provide the features you ask for (reminders, calculators, Premium access).
- To understand which features are used and fix crashes, so we can improve the app.
- To meet legal obligations and handle support requests you send us.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract for purchases and Premium access, legitimate interests for crash diagnostics and the security and stability of the app, and your consent for analytics where required.
Sharing and transfers
We share data only with the service providers named above (Google for Firebase, Adapty, Apple). We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for cross-context advertising. These providers may process data in countries outside yours, including the United States, under their own safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Retention
Content on your device stays until you delete it or remove the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by the providers according to their retention settings. Purchase records are kept as long as needed to maintain your access and meet legal requirements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent and to complain to a data protection authority. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information. Because we hold no accounts, we may need an identifier from your device to find your records. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days. You can delete everything stored on your device by using the delete option in Settings or by removing the app.
Children
Leavenly is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data on your device is protected by the security of your device. Communication with the services above uses encrypted connections. No method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version, and earlier versions are kept on this site. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page.
